The blanket billows out in the breeze that is ever present on the stretch of sand that is Lilycove beach. A dark patch creating a momentary void upon the scenery before it kneels to the sands and spreads out, covering it in a darkness only deeper than the night because of the city lights filling the sky behind her and the moon over the ocean before her.

It is late, late enough that many have already gone home and ventured inland to avoid the rising tides and to traverse the bars that are beckoning them with their well made foods and lounge lights and drink. Isra wants none of it tonight. Tonight is a night she longs for a reason to venture outwards into the world around her. To be surrounded by it, to feel it, even now on this city beach it begins. The air shifts, the world swims beneath her as she readjusts to the change of sand beneath bare feet instead of the noise of her heels and she focuses on the sounds of the ocean until drowns out the city behind her.

Perfect.

The papers are spread across the blanket, a rock sits in the middle of each as she does. One by one they pin their prey to the folds of the void beneath them like dull stars and soon they are in the shapes of constellations across the papers as her mind wonders with every which whim and thought because for just a moment she does not want to analyze every move she makes she simply wishes to make them. To be free of the smothering that her life has always been, continues to be. It is different now but it smothers her none the less.

It doesn't take long before the rocks go beyond the black canvas that had been their home thus far. Stretching out onto the grains of sand as she pulls from the jar she had brought with her until there aren't anymore stars to place across the sky beneath her.

She stands, an ever present audience to the whims of her mind. She stares at the constellations and smiles at herself. It's not until she looks out towards the waters lapping a the shores that she notices a silhouette out amongst the rocks on this secluded side of the beach.

"Good Evening." she watches her visitor as though they have treaded upon something they were not supposed to see. They had.

Watching the tides, as they dance back and forth, had always been a relaxing way to pass time. Feeling the pleasant breeze on one’s skin, the smell of sand and salt water, it was all quite calming. It reminded the man of simpler times, better times, that were now nothing more than happy memories to reminisce on.

He did not come here, to this city, for the beach but for work. He enjoyed his work and there aren’t many other things he would do with his life but at times it did feel a bit monotonous. Perhaps this was a result of being in the business for too long.

It was why the masked man stood on the beach this late at night watching the waves. If anything was a nice break of pace this was definitely it. This was also one the rare times his mask had been off, it instead of resting in his hand. He wanted to feel the breeze on his face and besides who really wants to wear a mask all day?

The man wasn’t alone and as usual, his Gengar hid within the man’s shadow, popping out to see what the man was doing. ”Quite a nice night, isn’t it?” The ghost snickered in response to the question, his way of agreeing.

He put the mask back on; it was time to head inland despite not wanting to. The ghost at his side went back into it's master’s shadow as the man turned and headed back. He did not walk for long however, as it turns out he wasn’t alone on the beach.

A woman had called out to him; the first thing he noticed was, of course, the set up under her. Well, this was most certainly odd and that was a lot coming from a man in a mask. ”And a good evening to yourself! Lovely night, isn’t it?” He responded.

The way she looked at him gave the feeling that he was less than a welcome sight and it wasn’t because of his attire. ”Ah, I hope I’m not interrupting anything! But I am a bit curious as to what you’re doing here, looks mighty interesting! That is if you don’t mind satisfying a curious cat’s wonderings.”

Nothing about him is familiar and that somehow makes the intrusion easier to handle. Perhaps it is the fact the compulsion to keep up images falls in an instant. Breaking under the oddity of everything before her that cannot possibly fit the mold of the game she has spent so many of her nights playing with people that she desperately wants to do anything else but that with.

Her head tilts to the side, features softening into the curiosity of a child doll, crafted to look like them with eyes filled with wonder. Certainly, the normal response would have been to find him unsettling but she was never quite like that. She couldn't ever squash that child inside screaming to know what she encountered before she rejected it. "It is." she assumed they both shared that reason for being out in it rather than elsewhere. Perhaps that was part of why she was so quick to settle back into herself once he spoke, she sees an oddity just like herself.

"You are." she states with a stark plainness in her voice. It's true after all, though the lack of any emotion in her tone should make it apparent she does not hold it against him. Yet. "I was making constellations with the rocks." there's no harm in telling him that. Many of the most common can be seen across her blanket, spreading into the sands. She focused on ones that don't use too many stars, allowing her to make as many as possible. The papers are of no real concern. He won't understand them anyway.

"What are you doing out here? Most people won't come out so late. They worry about the tides." as far as the woman is concerned all you have to do is watch where you walk and what you do. The ocean is a beast to respect but not one to fear if you're careful with it.
